Halloween Is Tomorrow in Prescott, Arizona! Get Ready for Costumes, Candy, and a Whole Lot of Fun!

Get ready for costumes, candy, and a whole lot of fun.

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 31, Halloween takes over Prescott, and our mountain town is ready for one of the sweetest, silliest nights of the year. Fill the candy bowls, grab your costumes, and let’s make it a good one.

Mount Vernon Avenue: Where Halloween Comes Alive

Ask anyone who has spent Halloween on Mount Vernon Avenue, and they’ll tell you it’s no ordinary trick-or-treating route. This historic street turns into a Halloween wonderland, with elaborate decorations, glowing pumpkins, spooky skeletons, and families out enjoying the evening. The grand old homes make a perfect backdrop: some look like haunted mansions, while others have graveyards, ghosts, and just enough scare to be fun.

The crowds are part of the show. Families and trick-or-treaters come from all over the Prescott area, and you’ll see little dinosaurs walking beside princesses and superheroes sprinting toward the next porch light. Somewhere in the mix, a parent will say, “That’s enough candy!” and a child will answer, “But we still have 37 more houses to visit!”

That’s Halloween in Prescott.

A Saturday Night Made for Trick-or-Treating

With Halloween landing on a Saturday this year, families can stay out a little later without worrying about school in the morning. Neighbors decorate their homes, kids show off their costumes, parents pose for pictures, and grown-ups get a perfectly good excuse to dress up as pirates, cowboys, or their favorite movie characters.

For many Prescott families, walking Mount Vernon Avenue has become an annual tradition, full of laughter, neighborly chats, and memories kids carry for years.

Drivers, Our Little Ghosts and Goblins Are Everywhere

Now for the most important part: please drive safely tomorrow evening.

Thousands of footsteps will fill Prescott’s neighborhoods. Kids will be crossing streets, darting between parked cars, and sometimes getting a little too excited about the house with the giant inflatable pumpkin. Their enthusiasm tends to move faster than their attention.

We’re asking every driver in Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, and across Yavapai County to help keep the night safe:

  • Slow down in residential neighborhoods.
  • Watch carefully for children crossing the street.
  • Put your phone away while driving.
  • Stay alert near parked vehicles and intersections.
  • Follow all road closures and traffic directions.
  • Never drive after drinking.
  • Give pedestrians and families extra time to cross.

Parents, please keep younger children close, carry flashlights or glow sticks, and remind everyone to look both ways. A few extra seconds of patience behind the wheel can protect a child’s life.

Planning to Visit Mount Vernon? Know Before You Go

The City of Prescott has announced street closures for Saturday, October 31, to keep families safe.

  • 1:00 PM: Traffic control begins on Mount Vernon Avenue.
  • 2:00 PM: The road closes to vehicles.
  • Closure area: From Sheldon Street through Senator Highway to Haisley Road. Some nearby streets will also have restrictions, so follow the posted signs.
  • Gurley Street: Remains open in both directions.

Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a jacket for the cool evening, and expect parking and traffic to be busy. The best Halloween memories come from an evening that isn’t rushed.

Let’s Make Halloween 2026 One to Remember

Prescott is more than mountains, historic buildings, and beautiful scenery. It’s a community where neighbors come together, families build traditions, and kids get to enjoy the simple pleasures of growing up in a special place.

Tomorrow night, the streets will fill with laughter, colorful costumes, glowing pumpkins, and enough candy to keep local dentists busy for weeks. So decorate your porch, turn on the lights, and welcome the trick-or-treaters.

Whether you’re walking Mount Vernon Avenue, handing out candy at home, or driving through town, remember that every little ghost, princess, cowboy, witch, and superhero is someone’s child or grandchild. Let’s all do our part to get them home safely.

From all of us at West USA Realty of Prescott, we wish our friends, neighbors, and everyone across Yavapai County a fun, safe, and happy Halloween. Enjoy the costumes, the laughter, and the candy.

And drivers, slow down. Our little monsters are counting on you!
